Minor Skin Infections

Our skin is our largest organ but can become infected by many different types of bacteria, viruses, or fungi at different times throughout our lives. Our pharmacists are here to help diagnose and treat minor skin conditions or advise when it’s best to visit your family GP. 

Symptoms of minor skin infections can include: 

• Dry and/or flaky skin 

• Itchy skin 

• Red and/or inflamed skin 

• Skin sores or scabs 

Our pharmacist can help recommend products to combat minor skin infections and irritations. You may be eligible for the funded Minor Health Conditions Service if you are: 

• Of Māori or Pacific ethnicity 

• A Community Services Card (CSC) holder 

• A child aged 14 years or younger; or 

• Part of a family/household with a child under 14 years or younger and you are both experiencing these symptoms.
