Eczema, a type of atopic dermatitis, is associated with having an impaired skin barrier (sensitive skin) that causes redness, inflammation, dryness and itching of your skin. There is often a family history of eczema, hayfever and/or asthma.
Eczema can go through phases of severity, and effectively managing conditions can elevate symptoms. Our pharmacists are here to help diagnose and advise when it’s best to visit your family GP.
Symptoms include :
- Dry & itchy skin
- Redness & inflammation of the skin
- Skin swelling
- Small, raised bumps on the skin
- Cracked & oozing skin
- Skin sensitivity and pain
- Intense itching
- Skin infection due to scratching
- Difficulty sleeping & emotional distress or frustration due to the conditions
Our pharmacist can help recommend products to alleviate symptoms of eczema. You may be eligible for the funded Minor Health Conditions Service if you are:
